Spike

Spike is a very sweet 23-year old appaloosa gelding.  He spent many years as an English lesson horse, but he clearly has a Western background.  Spike lost an eye several years ago, but despite that he continued to be a wonderful beginner/intermediate lesson horse, great on trails and was used for the therapeutic riding program as well.  He was always a favorite because of his willingness and because he always took very good care of his riders. Now that he is getting older, Spike has some arthritis and is ready to retire. He is very affectionate, loves attention, and would like a place to relax and perhaps do some very light trail riding (or maybe a little lead-line once in a while). He has taken wonderful care of his riders all these years, now he deserves to be taken care of into his golden years.  He is a very special horse!
**Special Note-24/7 turnout would be best for Spike**

Rusty

Rusty

Rusty is a 25yr old Registered Quarter Horse gelding who would love to be someone’s light-duty trail horse. He spent most of his life as a private western trail horse, but for the last 2 years he was a part of an extensive English lesson program. Now a little older, the heavy work load is too much for him, so he is looking for a home as a one-person horse. He is great in the ring but especially loves the trails. He can be ridden English, but is more accustomed to going Western. Rusty is very friendly on the ground, loves attention and has great ground manners. He is easy to work with, has no bad habits, and gets along well with other horses. Rusty has lots of energy and is very responsive, so he needs a rider with some experience. It is recommended that he be ridden by someone weighing 170 pounds or less, especially if he is going to wear a heavy Western saddle. Could you be Rusty’s new trail buddy and give him his forever home?

Linus

linus

Linus is a 15-year-old registered Paint gelding. Yes, he’s a paint, although rare in his coloring - he is a handsome bay.  Linus spent almost 4 years as a school horse and then was adopted in 2006; but his family encountered financial trouble and couldn’t keep him, so Linus is again looking for a permanent, loving home. He’s approximately 15.1 and is an adorable, sweet horse; he has good ground manners and is quite affectionate, both with people and with other horses.  But Linus was not ridden while he was in his last home, and he’s been a little reluctant to “get back to work.”  He would be an ideal horse for someone looking for a project or someone working with a trainer. He’d be a nice trail horse too, but he can be a little apprehensive on the trails, so he needs a rider who can give him confidence.  And if you just want a companion, Linus would also make an excellent pasture mate, as he loves other horses and gets along well with both geldings and mares. If you would like to give this very special horse a new home, please contact us.

Nemo

nemo

Nemo is a kind, gentle 22yr old Registered Quarter Horse gelding who stands approx. 15.2h. He has a lip tattoo, so he probably raced in his younger days. He was a wonderful school horse for 3½ years, where he worked both in lessons and in a therapeutic riding program. Now that he is a little older, he can be ridden lightly at the walk only. Nemo is the best pasture-mate one could ever hope to find! He can be trusted to get along very well with any horse he is turned out with and he is a great babysitter.  Nemo is one of the sweetest horses you will ever meet – he loves attention and is easy to work with on the ground. He has had a long career and now deserves a happy retirement in a home where he will be loved and well cared for. Are you the one who will give him his forever home?
